Following the departure of Charles Munch as the conductor of the BSO, Erich Leinsdorf took over and introduced the symphonies of Mahler. His performances were highly acclaimed during that time, and his commercial recordings were also greatly appreciated. These live performances provide a greater sense of excitement and spontaneity, with Symphony No. 6 available in stereo and Symphony No. 1 in mono sound. The sound quality is excellent. These two symphonies are now available as a bundle at a discounted price.
