The sound of Oistrakh's violin is perfectly reproduced. This is the benefit of DSD.
Excellent sound and performance
Terrific performance and wonderful sound.
David Oistrakh - Beethoven violin concerto
I used to have a copy of EMI's first pressing LP of this performance and Testament's re-issue LP. As for CDs, I have the first EMI CD version, a Japanese HQ ( High Quality ) CD and a Japanese Hybrid SACD so I can say I know how the original LP and the CDs sound. When I played the HDTT CD, I said to myself, "Now I got my EMI LP back." This is a truly analog sounding remastering which vividly brings back the Oistrakh tone to life. You couldn't hope for a better remastering. Many thanks, HDTT.
Beethoven Violin Concerto David Oistrakh
A wonderful recording and performance. This is one of my favorite violin concertos. This recording is well worth it.
