Excellent 3D sounding live recording. Each instrument solidly occupies its space in the stereo spectrum. Great depth and space between and around the instruments. I like all Bill Evans recordings, so commenting on the quality of the music is unnecessary.
It is like a perfectly preserved reel-to-reel for all time. Wow. Could not imagine audio like this. These guys’ DSD masters rule. (Always try reversing phase, seems to make a huge difference sometimes. I generally find DSD plays best with reversed phase, or the other way around—either way, the opposite of PCM. That's on two different sets of DACs and amplification.)
This is only my second DSD purchase, but this is fast becoming my preferred format. There seems to be life in the recording that's missing in PCM, and the detail is abundant. I'm glad this album is available here; it's a terrific performance, and I've played it a lot since I got it.
