1960's DG sound
I had got 192kHz 24 bit data made by EBS from e-onkyo. I have just compared HDTT and EBS. EBS is no noise, smoother and more emotional than HDTT. I think HDTT is nearly original sound of 1960's DG. I like both.
Mravinsky and this orchestra are a perfect match!
Nice transferring from legendary Mravinsky
Thanks HDTT for this transfer, amazing sonic sound.
Full bloodied transfer
Usually there is little sense in comparing a HDTT transfer to other issues. Now one can collate Pristine Classical edition of all the three great Tchaikovsky symphonies (https://www.pristineclassical.com/collections/artist-yevgeny-mravinsky/products/pasc396). As far as I know it had been transferred form LPs. After all HDTT could get the upper hand but one has to get accustomed to a little bit aggressive sound when the Leningrad strings are in full attack: what we hear is not a mellow agreeable flow of music but a somewhat harsh one. As a practical advice: get your amplifier warmed up properly, the place your listening position somewhat farther from the monitors than usual. In exchange one gets real presence and beautiful solos of perhaps the most famous presentation of Tchaikovsky's sixth.
Tchaikovsky 6 Mravinsky
Another excellent remastering of a classic performance.

Note for the DSD files: DSD has limited editing capabilities. To keep it pure DSD with no PCM used, There might be some blemishes to remain from the original tape source that would be normally edited out in a PCM release.
