In the early 70's Bernard Herrmann started to prepare albums with rerecordings of selections from his scores. He released an album with selections from the classic Hitchcock thrillers and this album of his scores for fantasy movies. It is a great recording and it sounds great.
hearing these great scores in high def quad made me feel like I was sitting in a grand old downtown theater again, just like in my youth. wonderful music in thrilling surround.
There is no dobt that the transfer to Blu-Ray Audio DVD is much better than the former release of the Dolby-Surround CD of the BMG-Group. The Lstener will be especially surprised by the channel separation. Best example: The Duel with the Skeleton in the seventh voyage of Sindbad!
Purchased this as a download in 64 DSD. While only four tracks, each is an extensive summary of a film. I particularly like the Fahrenheit 451 cut.
