Great recording, really good feel to the performance, and no harshness, except where you would expect it !
I am a big fan of Art Blakey’s music. I have four other albums from other sources and impressed by the audio transfer of this album.
This a historic recording from the early 60s. It sounds just as clear, fresh and dynamic as a contemporary state of the art recording. I do not know how you guys do it at HDTT, but this is utterly amazing. Highly recommended.
I have multiple Blakey/Jazz Messenger CDs that I ripped and listen to regularly but this recording sounds fabulous. It's my 1st purchase and I can't believe how awesome these FLAC recordings sound. I will be purchasing more!
This album brought me back to 1970's. I heard Art Blakey's play at Village Vanguard in NY. This album took me that happy night.
