Nice album but not the best record from IPI, as stated
Nice jazz album but disappointed by the recording; bass is far in the back and lacks of presence, drums also; micking was not adequate apparently, it gives you the impression that you're far in the back of the room and not in front of players, which is the case for some other records from IPI
Great music, but obscure problem with tags
This is great music, and sounds nice. It’s upbeat, yet relaxing, and works in a variety of listening situations. I downloaded it as FLAC files, and for some reason my media server (Logitech Media Server) choked on it. It was crashing, and the best I could come up with had something to do with the way the file was tagged. So I converted it from FLAC to WAV and then back to FLAC, which effectively removed the tags. Then I tagged it myself using MediaMonkey. Now it works perfectly. I didn’t explore the reason for the hiccup any further, but once over this hurdle I haven’t had any problems.
Excellent album John Wojciechowski Quartet
The new quartet album by John Wojciechowski (Wojo) introduces a Chicago post-bop. This album is a collective with the most of familiar jazz tunes and in their own style. As a Listener in this album the saxophone offers a rich sound with a classic approach. This is a true muscular album. Thanks Jonathan Horwich for transferring from the 15ips master tape to DSD, where the imaging of the instruments are perfect.
