Fantastic! Loved it so much, esp. as this is some of my favourite music! Thank you for making all these great & wonderful old recordings by many of the century's greatest performers available. Please keep them coming!
The sound quality was not bad from the LP era, but the remastering by this HDTT can be regarded as a great success. It faithfully expresses the texture, sound stage and dynamic range of the instruments recorded on the master tape. Remastering of the original DECCA masterpiece in the 1960s was also awful, but this is done very well.
Not many folk listen to Dvorak's early symphonies, prior to 6. They're missing some lovely music, albeit not of the exalted standard of the last four. It would be hard to find a better exponent of this music than the late, great Istvan Kertesz, who tragically drowned as a great international career was looming. Super playing, and fine Decca sound definitely complete the picture, make this a commendable recording.
