This is a lovely performance of one of Stravinsky's loveliest works. The strings of the Leningrad Philharmonic sound as rich and full as one would hope, the sound bright without without glare.
This is a good classic album that you must have because of its recording quality. you can heard the warmth of the violins and feel the emotion through differents works. The album tracks have a very good sound like that of analog sound. Its digital transfer is a success in dsd256. I highly recommend it.
This is a remarkably clear recording with more ambient clues than perhaps any recording I have ever heard. It is also a great performance of very engaging and beautiful music. Recommended.
I never quite got on with Stravinsky's Apollon - it always struck me as coldly neo-classical and unengaging. However, this performance has made me rethink this opinion. Superbly played by the sublime Leningrad Phil's strings, and conducted by the great Mravinsky with fire and passion- this is one of a kind. Not surprisingly, the sound is a bit shrieky in the upper strings, but acceptable.
