I like this record a lot. Great niX of music, eXcellently performed.
Well recorded performances. The Honegger was not to my musical taste but the Ravel is excellent. These older classical recordings really capture the orchestral ambience.
Ansermet handles with aplomb these tasty harmonic compositions by Honneger and Ravel. Colorful and fixating beauty in music.
The Ravel pieces are fine, and in good sound. However, the Honegger Symphony sounds stodgy and the Pacific 231 overloads massively. Moreover the OSR brass is really not up to the challenge for this last piece!
