For anyone who has attended a performance in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam you will hear right from the start how the engineers have captured the sound of this magnificent orchestra in this halls marvellous acoustic. Haitink and the RCOA have given us some truly outstanding recordings on LP and CD. This is an example of what they were like at their best "live in concert" - others are available if you wish to seek them out. The Mahler 7th is a difficult symphony to get right. Bernstein did and so does Haitink. Sit back, turn the volume up and enjoy this marvellous performance. HDTT have done an outstanding job with the transfer. 5 Stars for the performance and transfer.
